Chart notes
SUBJECT TO CHANGE , shuffled back leaving the starting gate, eased out entering the backstretch, circled the far turn three deep, gradually rallied outside horses and was up late. SOUPER EMPEROR , bumped by AMERICAN PIPER soon after the break, moved up two wide to challenge for the lead entering the far turn, dueled outside AMERICAN PIPER, bumped with that one in mid stretch and weakened. AMERICAN PIPER bore in leaving the starting gate, sprinted clear approaching the first turn, angled in, set the pace along the rail, dueled around the far turn, bumped with SOUPER EMPEROR in mid stretch and weakened. DESPITE ODDS , angled out entering the backstretch, raced three wide entering the far turn, eased out four deep approaching the stretch and failed to menace. NATIVE COURAGE bore out leaving the starting gate, raced along the inner rail and was not a factor. CRYING FOR MORE , rank at the break, was outrun. Objections by the rider of AMERICAN PIPER against SUBJECT TO CHANGE and SOUPER EMPEROR for alleged interference in the stretch were not allowed.
