Chart notes
COLONEL JUAN saved ground throughout, edged to the front in midstretch and edged clear following a long drive. BARINGER SPRING prompted the pace outside and continued gamely to the finish. KOAN set pressured fractions inside, was collared form both sides in the stretch and finished with determination. PUBILIUS SYRUS lagged far behind, advanced inside, angled out in the stretch while continuing to gain. THUNDERSHOOK settled off the pace in the two path, was asked on the final turn then proved empty. EKHTIBAAR prompted the pace wide for half a mile and stopped abruptly.
