Chart notes
ALOHA WEST broke out and hit the gate, brushed with SONNEMAN early, settled on the inside of a foe, was put to coaxing outside the five-eighths, came under stronger encouragement in the three path on the turn, gained to make a bid passing the five-sixteenths, took the lead while floating six wide into upper stretch, shook clear into the final furlong and extended the advantage while kept to the task under a solid hand-ride to the wire. OUR LAST BUCK showed good speed, set the pace under pressure to his outside, moved clear passing the five-eighths, went around the turn in the two path, was headed by the winner while under the crop into upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and proved no match while clear for the place. SONNEMAN brushed with ALOHA WEST early, was urged along at the rear of the field, traveled around the turn in the two path, drifted out in upper stretch and lacked the needed response while best of the rest. THREE TECHNIQUE settled on the outside, was asked four wide on the turn then driven five wide into the stretch and failed to respond. AMERICAN POWER was hustled from the start, pressed the pace on the outside under urging, dropped back with five furlongs to run, came up empty on the turn and retreated.
