Chart notes
CAJUN BROTHER set a pressured pace inside for a half-mile, lost the advantage to FRONT LOADED through the furlong grounds, battled back while drifting out slightly in the closing yards and took a hard-fought decision. FRONT LOADED was never far back, challenged for command between horses three wide on the turn, came away with the lead in upper stretch, got grazed ever so slightly by CAJUN BROTHER nearing the finish and was outgamed. SEPTEMBERTEN saved ground into the turn, moved out three wide approaching the stretch, and ran on with good courage. SILVERLY ENOUGH advanced to loom a threat four wide coming to the quarter-pole, got outpaced turning for home, then kept on late outside the top trio. WITH VERVE saved ground outsprinted to the turn, fanned widest for the drive and made no headway. BREEZE ON BY pressed CAJUN BROTHER from outside for a half, and tired. GUMP bobbled slightly at the start, chased early three wide, and faded before reaching the stretch. FOLLOWING A STEWARDS INQUIRY AND AN OBJECTION AGAINST THE WINNER BY THE RIDER OF FRONT LOADED FOR ALLEGED INTERFERENCE IN THE STRETCH, THERE WAS NO CHANGE TO THE ORDER OF FINISH.
