Chart notes
THATSABADBOY prompted the pace from a forward position, was three wide on the second turn, gained ground on FIRE POLISH off of the turn and edged clear in the final sixteenth. FIRE POLISH set the fractions from a ground saving position, was confronted by the winner off of the second turn, could not hold him off but saved second in the final strides. BENDER settled just off of the early pace, made a middle move to gain ground on the leaders, saved ground on the second turn, closed in the stretch but was outfinished in the final sixteenth, just missing for second. EL JOY stalked the pace from the midflight, was two to three wide on the second turn and was outkicked in the stretch, just missing for the show. RULER OF ANGELS was unhurried in the early going, was three wide on the second turn and did not rally in the stretch. MUCHO MACHISMO was away alertly and vied for the early lead, was losing ground on the run into the second turn when took up in tight quarters and faded in the late stages.
