Chart notes
CANDY STORE vied for the lead on the inside, fell off the pace by the quarter pole, then came again in the stretch on the inside to edge clear under a drive, was vanned off. CONTACT TRACING vied for the early lead three wide, made a bid to shake clear on the turn, then was headed leaving the turn and dueled for command by the furlong marker, dug in gamely but was outfinished late. TRUCULENT was rated along three wide early, made a four wide move to go on even terms for the lead leaving the turn but hung in the final furlong. CODE RUNNER was allowed to settle early, advanced on the turn and came three wide into the drive but offered no late rally. LEMON KICK was off slowly, then was not a threat. PEEKACHO was fractious in the gate, then chased the pace four to five wide and tired.
