Chart notes
CLEARLY GONE settled off of the early pace, mounted a bid while three to four wide on the second turn, vied for the lead off of the turn and pulled away in the final sixteenth to prevail. ROSE PRINCESS was away well and set all of the pace, saved ground on the second turn, was confronted by the winner off of the turn and was outkicked in the stretch, while holding on for place. REIWA stalked the early pace, was three wide on the second turn, vied for the lead leaving the turn, drifted in a path nearing the furlong marker and was outfinished in the stretch, just missing for second. SCHERZO (GB) prompted the early pace by ROSE PRINCESS, was two wide on the second turn, steadied sharply nearing the eighth pole when REIWA drifted in and weakened in the final stages. ZAKKIYYAH stalked the early pace while saving ground and gave way in the stretch run. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO THE INCIDENT IN UPPER STRETCH INVOLVING REIWA AND SCHERZO AND IN A UNANIMOUS DECISION RULED THAT REIWA DRIFTED IN A PATH, CAUSING SCHERZO TO STEADY AND IN DOING SO COST SCHERZO THE OPPORTUNITY OF A BETTER PLACE AND DISQUALIFIED REIWA FROM THIRD TO FOURTH.
