Chart notes
TEN THE SMART WAY set the pace from the rail to the stretch, responded in the drive and dug in gamely to hold by a nostril. BUYBACK pressed the winner throughout while two wide then finished willingly but lost the nod. IMPERIAL CREED was settled for a half mile, saved ground to the stretch and closed but was too late. IDA CLAIRE was chasing to the second turn, came three wide to the stretch but lacked a closing response. FABRIANA tracked the leaders to the second turn, was two wide to the stretch then came up empty. LET'S GO NOW lunged from the gate and lost four lengths and did not threaten. GOLDEN IRIS (GB) had no speed and was always outrun.
