LITTLE GROOT away alertly and vied for the lead from along the rail entering the first turn, set a pressured pace from the inside of IT'S IN COMMAND in the run down the backside, took control entering the final turn, held a clear advantage into the lane, and held the closers safely at bay late while drifting out in deep stretch to prevail. APPELLANT unhurried early while dropping well behind the dueling leaders entering the backstretch, launched his bid three wide entering the final turn, and closed determinedly four wide in the drive to get up for the place in the closing strides. THE CHANCES R stalked the contested early pace while racing one out from the rail entering the backstretch, rallied smartly two wide entering the final turn, and closed willingly three wide in the drive and just failed to hold the place. EUROPEAN broke sharply and stalked the leaders from along the rail entering the backstretch, rallied smartly from along the rail entering trhe final turn, but lacked the needed closing response needed in the stretch drive. IT'S IN COMMAND away well and dueled for the lead from the outside of LITTLE GROOT entering the first turn, forced the issue from the outside of that rival in the run down the backstretch, was unable to match strides with his pace rival entering the final turn, and stopped badly over the final furlong.
