Chart notes
EYE OF THE NEEDLE pressured the pace through the backstretch and took the lead two deep approaching the quarter pole, raced clear midway on the turn and held well under steady handling. DENALI D'ORO chased inside, rounded the turn at the rail, eased outward past the eighth pole and was closing well through the lane. CHEROKEE CASTLE chased toward the inside, raced near the rail on the turn and finished evenly for third mid-stretch. DRIVEN TO SUCCEED chased outside, rounded the turn about the four path and ran evenly down the lane. JUST ASK ME set a pressured pace inside, was caught at the rail nearing the quarter pole, dropped back midway on the turn and weakened.
