Chart notes
WINE AND WHISKY tracked the early leader, raced four wide into the upper stretch and finished well to get up under strong encouragement. ROBBER BARON showed good early speed to set all the pace, resisted inside the eighth pole but couldn't hold off the winner late to finish second best. ENOS SLAUGHTER stalked the early pace while racing between rivals, raced five deep near the three sixteenths pole and showed good late interest. RIVER ROSE stalked the early pace, raced towards the inside and had no final winning bid. SWAMP SOUFFLE was slow early and never threatened. BOTTLE OF SMOKE stumbled at the break, raced five wide around the first turn, settled off the early pace, raced five wide into the upper stretch and never was a serious threat. The quarter mile fractional time was 25.94.
