EARLY FROST tracked the early pace four wide, made a three wide middle move to take command on the turn, was clear leaving the turn and held sway late to prove best under a drive. SHOW MAID was allowed to settle early, eased out and came four wide into the drive, closed well late to be clearly second best. A. C. RIGGS was reserved early, made a three wide middle move to be in contention on the turn but flattened out, bested rest. EXPURGATED was allowed to settle early, was five wide by the quarter pole and had no rally. FROST WARRIOR vied for the lead on the inside and weakened.
