INTERSTATE In hand six wide, four wide on the last turn, angled out, asked, reached the leaders three across and drove clear. JOHNNY FONTAINE Vied for the lead early, tracked four wide after that, challenged three across, drifted in leaving the five-sixteenths pole making it tight on SEA CAPTAIN, battled between a furlong out and finished second best. STARSHIP GOTHAM Unhurried along the three path, three path on the last turn and was along for a share. K AND G In hand along the rail, continued inside to the lane, eased out some and weakened. SEA CAPTAIN Vied for the lead early, shook loose after a half mile, between leaving the five-sixteenth pole, took up sharply when JOHNNY FONTAIN dropped down a path approaching the quarter pole and then weakened. OLIVER'S FORTUNE Appeared rank on the first turn, well placed along the rail, gained to challenge mid way on the last turn, battled inside in the lane and tired. BOURBON BROWN Vied for the lead three across early, five wide after that dropping back some and was done on the final turn. A claim of foul was lodged by the rider of SEA CAPTAIN against JOHNNY FONTANE for interference leaving the five-sixteenths pole, resulted no change.
