Chart notes
WHOA NESSIE held a slim lead around the first turn, set a pressure pace over PAIGE RUNNER through the backstretch, vied inside of rival around the far turn, shook free at the head of the lane, dueled inside of HAAPY HAPPY HAPPY in the upper stretch, dug in gamely two wide, stayed on determinedly and edged away. HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY was allowed to settle through early stages, picked up the pace around the far turn, launched a rail bid at the head of the lane, dueled inside of the winner into late stages then lacked closing kick. COVER VERSION secured inside position around the first turn, stalked the top pair through the backstretch, was ridden along leaving the quarter pole, came four wide into the lane, stayed on with response and gained ground in deep stretch. PAIGE RUNNER applied pace pressure to WHOA NELLIE through the backstretch, vied for the lead with eventual winner around the far turn, could not match strides at the head of the lane then weakened in the final furlong. AVISSE saved ground and had no response. GREATER GLORY failed to move into contention.
