Chart notes
MURCIELAGO broke outward, settled in range, closed on the turn, led upper stretch and finished under a hand ride. CORE raced in mid pack, closed two to four-wide on the turn then finished gamely. CHAIRMAN FOX showed brief speed and settled in mid pack, was hustled from the rail to three-wide on the turn and closed belatedly. TWICE AS SMART brief speed, stalked the pace from the rail then chased through the stretch. PERFECT GENTLEMAN broke outward, sprinted clear into the turn, set the pace, was passed upper stretch and gave way. ACCORDING TO CODE's gate opened early, settled off the pace, was hustle three and four-wide on the turn but never reached contention. MIDNIGHT MEADOW, bumped at the start, settled off the pace, was hustled four and five-wide on the turn but lacked a rally. TIME FOR THE KING broke inward and bumped MIDNIGHT MEADOW, showed brief speed, stalked from the rail on the turn then leveled out in the final furlong. A STEWARDS' INQUIRY INTO THE START FOUND THAT ACCORDING TO CODE'S GATE HAD OPENED PREMATURELY. ACCORDING TO CODE WAS DEEMED TO HAVE HAD AN UNFAIR START AND A REFUND WAS IN ORDER.
