Chart notes
BROOKYS TAPIT pressed the pace through the second turn, took the lead leaving the second turn and kicked clear in the late going. IOWA HAWKEYE settled off of the early pace, mounted a bid on the second turn while three wide and was outkicked in the stretch while on the left lead and clear of the rest. HANDS OFF was five wide on the first turn, settled near the rear of the field through the second turn and lacked a late kick in the stretch drive. TEX HANLEY stalked the pace through the second turn while four wide and weakened in the late going. BOB'S REIGN was four wide on the first turn, settled off of the pace through the second turn while three to four wide and was not a threat. INIMITABLE was away well and set prompted fractions through the second turn, lost action and fell nearing the quarter-pole, and was euthanized on the track. THE STEWARDS CONDUCTED AN INQUIRY INTO INIMITABLE FALLING APPROACHING THE TOP OF THE STRETCH AND DETERMINED HE LOST ACTION AND FELL ON HIS OWN ACCORD AND WAS NOT AFFECTED BY OTHER HORSES IN THAT INCIDENT.
