Chart notes
SPENDAHOLIC was away in good order to duel for the lead with MISTER MCLEAN while racing three-wide, opened a clear margin nearing the sixteenth marker and held off the closing AZEE RULES to prevail. AZEE RULES was reserved just off the leaders early, moved three-wide through the turn and finished with good late energy. MISTER MCLEAN disputed the pace with the winner from off the rail and gave way through the final furlong. WHIDBEY PRINCE settled off the leaders from off the rail throughout and finished evenly in the drive. CIRCUS RIDE was off slow, raced just off the leaders early, moved four-wide through the turn and weakened. LICORICE DROP POPS lacked early foot, raced five-wide through the turn and was not a factor. CAUSE AND EFFECT was void of early speed, raced six-wide through the turn and did not offer a bid. PALMY SUNDAE showed no early speed, raced five-wide through the turn and did not menace.
