COMMAND THE CAT entered the first turn in the five path then stalked from the nine sixteenths pole, bid toward the five sixteenths, took the nod two deep midway on the far turn, dueled Prota at even terms through the upper stretch, drew clear of that one mid-stretch and held on well with steady handling. AWESOME BUZZ settled off the pace and off the rail the first turn, bid leaving the three eighths pole, continued off the rail through the far turn, was eased to the four path entering the stretch and finished well to take second late yards. PROTA became fractious in the gate, took the lead two deep into the first turn then angled to the rail midway through the turn, came under pressure at the three eighths pole, was caught at the rail midway on the far turn, dueled Command The Cat at even terms through the upper stretch, though, relented the final sixteenth. WIDGET FACTORY rounded the opening turn in the three path then stalked into the backstretch, picked up the chase nearing the seven sixteenths pole, raced at the rail on the far turn and flattened the final furlong. FIRE DOWN BELOW became very fractious in the gate and was removed to be checked by the vet, broke awkwardly and rounded the first turn about the three path, raced outside into the backstretch, gave chase leaving the three eighths pole, ran in the three path of the far turn and showed little more. PERFETTO steadied at the rail off the heels of Prota past the five eighths pole then faded through the backstretch. COMPANY CLOWN and THE IRON BANK raced well back.
