Chart notes

SPETTRO displayed early speed, went around the first turn in the two path, moved clear entering the backstretch, showed the way through moderate fractions, controlled the tempo while inside on the far turn, responded well when set down in upper stretch and held sway under steady handling. NIKOSTRATOS settled on the inside, was asked on the far turn, drafted behind horses into the stretch then was put to a drive, moved out in the vicinity of the furlong marker, gained into the final sixteenth but missed while clear for the place. EXCURSIONNISTE was taken under a tight hold early, went three wide around the opening bend, was reserved off the pace, traveled three then four wide on the far turn, came five wide into the stretch and was along for the show. BIONDI was taken back off the early pace, went around the first turn in the two path, was well placed in the third position, saved ground early on the far turn, shifted to the two path at the five-sixteenths, came three wide into the stretch, chased the winner into the final furlong and weakened. FRONT LINE DANCER jostled with a foe leaving the chute, rounded the first turn in the two path, settled near the back, went three wide on the final turn, came five wide into the stretch then moved further out at the three-sixteenths and improved position. CAGNEY saved ground while contesting the early pace, switched out leaving the first turn, tracked the pace down the backstretch, was asked while two then three wide on the far turn and came up empty. DRUMS OF WAR went four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, was roused three then four wide on the far turn and lacked the needed response. YOUR MISSION went four wide on the first turn, settled on the outside, was urged four then five wide on the far turn, came six wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. SECRET SANCTUARY raced inside early on the opening bend the moved to the two path, settled off the pace, went around the far turn in the two path, shifted four wide into the stretch and failed to rally. SILVERMILL settled in the two path, was asked on the far turn, moved to the three path late on that bend and also failed to rally. LORD BROWNIE jostled with a rival leaving the chute, navigated the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, saved ground on the far turn and was no factor. TIZ SNOW was taken up early, went around the turns in the two path, swung six wide into the stretch and never reached contention.
