BALBOA'S SMILE stumbled badly at the start, stalked three wide, bid four wide turn, dueled, rallied outside in the stretch run, edged away and prevailed under urging. CUP OF LIFE stalked two wide, waited and steadied behind horses at the quarter pole, split rivals past the eighth pole and rallied inside for second. ESCANDALO tracked inside, bid three wide on the turn, dueled into the stretch and was outkicked. ONE PAIR OF HANDS vied inside for the lead, dueled inside and tired. PRINCESS EMMA JO vied outside for the lead, dueled two wide on the turn, battled to midstretch and tired. RUBY DOOBY DOO raced off the pace inside and did not factor.
