Chart notes
NOTRE DAME got brushed from inside leaving the gate, dueled for the lead outside a rival then cleared to take control nearing the half-mile pole, showed the way two wide into the stretch and drew away. ESCAPE ROUTE settled off the pace, went two wide into the turn, angled out and came four wide into the stretch, chased determinedly through the stretch but had to settle for second best. SUMO got knocked into outside rival at the start, tracked the pace outside a rival then three deep on the turn, could not find more inside the furlong grounds but held the show. SEA TO SUCCESS was away well and dueled inside NOTRE DAME briefly then could not match strides nearing the half-mile pole, chased inside a pair of rivals to the stretch and flattened through the final furlong. ROOKIE MISTAKE broke out and bumped rival, dropped back and trailed three then four wide around the turn and failed to menace. HALF RIGHT tossed his head and came away a bit slow at the start, chased off the rail then between foes into and around the turn, then weakened in the drive.
