Chart notes
JOURNEY CAKE vied for lead four wide on the backstretch, entered turn three wide, took command heading into the stretch and responded gamely to edge away late. GOLDEN VICTORY vied for lead in between rivals three wide on the backstretch, vied between rivals two wide on the turn, battled gamely in the stretch to the wire. LOST THE MINISTER shied from rival and bumped inside rival at the start, vied in between on the backstretch, went to rail on the turn, in contention at the top of the stretch and failed to match strides with rivals inside the final sixteenth. SOUL PRODIGY bumped at the start, pressed pace along the inside, tried to hold rail entering the turn, but had to steady when failing to hold position, kept on well enough to stay within range but failed to improve. MARKSMAN ON TARGET away cleanly and dropped back exiting the chute, continued to trail through the backstretch and through the turn showing mild late gain on fourth place finisher.
