JOHNY LIGHTNIN was allowed to settle early and drop down to the inside, advanced on the turn while saving ground, eased off the inside nearing the quarter pole and swung out four wide for the drive, continued to make a bid and close well on the outside to get up in time under a drive. EXPENSIVE was well rated early, made a four wide bid to vie for command by the quarter pole, then shook clear leaving the turn and by the furlong marker, but was caught in deep stretch to just miss. SHADOW BOAT was bumped at the start, then was reserved early, came four wide into the drive and offered a belated rally for the show award. ASHRAQ pressed the early pace three wide and made a bid to vie for command between horses by the quarter pole and weakened. POSSE CAN DISCO set a pressured pace on the inside and vied for command by the quarter pole and faltered.
