Chart notes
MIDNIGHT FIRE vied for the early lead, saved ground around the turn, drove clear and was kept to the task. CRIMSON STORM raced in the middle of the field, made a late bid, proved no match for the winner, but held off GOLD MERRITT for second. GOLD MERRITT broke a step slow, bothered at the start, racing in the back, came around the turn wide, gained ground and missed second. JAMAICAN ME bumped at the start, racing near the back, showed late interest, but was no factor. SPANKHURST raced within striking distance, saved ground around the turn and lacked a late bid. CLERIC raced near the middle of the field and put forth an even effort. IN A BIND void of early speed and was never a threat. JUST RIGHT MIKE dueled on the front end and dropped back.
