Chart notes
CIELO AZUL was bumped outward and into Hobe Sound leaving the gate then closed to contention and raced at even terms inside on the first turn, dueled clear of that one at the rail midway on the far turn and was steadily encouraged through the lane. COMBINATION broke outward to make contact with Cielo Azul then ran in the three path of the opening turn, started a bid approaching the three eighths pole, rounded the far turn three wide, drifted a bit into the stretch but dug in from there to get up for second later yards. HOBE SOUND was bumped at the break then closed to contention and took a brief lead into the first turn, raced at even terms through the turn, gave chase from the three eighths pole but dropped back midway on the far turn and ceded second later yards. EXCALIBUR saved ground well off the pace, bid leaving the seven sixteenths pole and rounded the far turn off the rail, eased to the outside in the upper stretch and passed some rivals. HOLIDAY BONUS rated just off the pace and off the rail on the first turn, gave chase leaving the three eighths pole, ran off the rail on the far turn then weakened. PEANUTS PERFECTION rated just off the pace toward the inside, picked up the chase leaving the three eighths pole, rounded the far turn near the rail then weakened.
