Chart notes
COLOMBARD close up from the start in the three path, angled out on the turn, dug in four wide through deep stretch and prevailed under strong handling. SILENT TIGER pressed the early pace three wide, gained a narrow lead between calls on the turn two wide, was bumped from his outside near mid stretch and forced into UNCLE MOMO, matched stride the balance of the trip, drifted out late bumping with OVERBEARING and finished gamely for second. OVERBEARING had speed from the start four wide, gained a narrow advantage on the turn, dueled into the stretch, drifted in bumping the runner up near mid stretch when struck with a right handed whip, was bumped by that one nearing the wire then outfinished. BULLION went evenly in the six path. UNCLE MOMO pressed the pace along the rail into the stretch, was bumped near the furlong marker then faded late. SOUTHERN SPIRIT sprinted to the lead two wide soon after the start, set a pressured pace into the turn, had speed into the stretch then stopped. THE STEWARDS POSTED THE INQUIRY SIGN BUT TOOK NO ACTION.
