LAVENDER EARL chased pace to the half, took over lead past the quarter pole and, held sway in the stretch while geared down. UPSTART GENTLEMAN inside run while never far back to quarter pole ran on gamely in the stretch while no match for the winner besting rest. CAPTAIN FANTASTIC outside run while never far back to quarter pole while evenly for show spot. HELLORHIGHWATER no speed from inside, angled out past the quarter pole and went on mildly in the late going. EL AHIJADO raced evenly while never far back and no real menace. MIDNIGHT J J was antsy in gate, broke a bit slow, crossed over for the lead to the half with nothing left and stopped.
