ASSUME CONTROL settled close up three wide, bid into the stretch, moved clear in midstretch and held rival safe under steady handling. CONFIRMED GENIUS prompted the pace outside, moved clear briefly on the final turn and continued gamely. WILDCAT CARTRIDGE rated behind the dueling leaders, angled out on the final turn then back in through the stretch with a slight gain. ADHWAA made a brief bid outside before half a mile then lacked a further response. FINE ONE WON firmly rated early, moved up under a hold after half a mile then faded. HOLMDEL PARK hustled to the front inside to the three eighths pole and faltered. MINESHAFT MAGIC broke slowly., chased wide and trailed throughout.
