Chart notes
VERRAZANO FIRST pressed the early pace on the inside, then went up to duel for command on the backstretch, made a bid by the quarter pole and shook clear leaving the turn, then remained clear to prove best under mild urging. AWESOME SATURDAY tracked the early pace setters, then made a three wide bid nearing the quarter pole, finished willingly but could not gain on the winner while being clearly second best. FIRST LINE was allowed to settle early, advanced four wide on the far turn, angled in by the quarter pole and flattened out, got show award inside. CAN IMAGINE set a pressured pace and then dueled two wide and on the outside of the winner, then faded in the drive, lost show award late. MOLIERE was allowed to settle early while four wide, came five wide into the drive and had no rally. BAREFOOTBOOTLEGGER was settled early on the inside and lacked a rally.
