Chart notes
CIELO DIAMANTE was hustled to the front in the early stages, set the pace through the turn, extended the lead approaching the furlong marker and held safely in the end over the oncoming runner-up. LOVELY COLLEEN stalked the pace three wide on the turn, was roused leaving the furlong grounds, closed well in the late stages and was unable to reel in the winner but was best of the rest. PRESKITT pressed the early fractions, lost ground along the turn and was outkicked in the stretch, while well clear of the rest for third. SMILING THUNDER bobbled at the start, recovered then was keen in the early stages and steadied off of heels nearing the half-mile marker, was steered four wide on the turn and tired in the late stages. LIGHT UP lacked early speed to the turn and was not a factor.
