VALTESSE unhurried in the early going, made a wide rally down the home stretch and drove clear deep in the lane. SWEET TEMPERAMENT went to the front, drove clear, saved ground around the turn, drifted out down the stretch, proved no match late for the winner, but was best of others. TAYLORS BABE lacked early speed, showed late interest on the inside, but proved no match for the top two. START WELL raced in the middle of the field, saved ground around the turn and lacked a late bid. ACTION POTENTIAL vied for the early lead and faded. FRIENDLY ACES pressed the early pace, dropped back and was outrun.
