Chart notes
HAMMERIN AAMER bumped with a rival at the start, settled towards the rear, was urged along in the two path around the turn, dropped close to the rail into upper stretch, rallied under a right-handed crop, gained into the final furlong then switched to a left-handed crop and closed strongly to get up in the final sixteenth. AMERICAN RULE was hustled from the gate, stalked the pace on the outside, was asked in the four path around the turn, gained to take the lead into upper stretch, led into the final sixteenth but was overtaken while able to hold the place. PIONEER SPIRIT bumped twice with an opponent at the start, dropped back early then settled under some urging, moved from the two path to the four path around the turn, chased under a drive in the stretch and finished with good courage for the show. WARRIOR IN CHIEF showed good speed, contested the pace on the outside of a foe while loosely between horses, vied in the three path around the turn, dropped back into upper stretch and weakened. MEXICAN WONDER BOY bumped with a foe at the start, was hustled to the front, contested the pace on the inside of a rival, vied along the rail on the turn, lost the advantage into upper stretch and gave way. THUNDERSHOOK settled towards the back, was urged along passing the five-eighths, moved out nearing the half-mile pole, went three wide on the turn, came four wide into the stretch and failed to threaten. STRIKING SPEED bumped with a foe at the start, settled on the outside, was urged four then five wide on the turn and came up empty.
