Chart notes

HELMS BEAR was away alertly to be soon clear and set the early pace while clear, remained clear while being well handled and then was sent down leaving the turn and was kept to mild left handed crop pressure to prove best. SKILLS TEST tracked the pace two wide and made a bid three wide leaving the turn but could not get to the winner while clearly second best. CORE stumbled at the start, then settled early, raced between horses at the five sixteenths and came four wide into the drive while advancing, finished evenly late while besting the rest. FLEX was off a step slow and bumped at the break, settled on the inside, angled out six wide in the stretch and improved position late. THELONIOUS chased the pace on the inside and weakened. SIR GRAYVENSCROFT chased the early pace three wide and was four wide by the quarter pole and weakened.
