Chart notes
EXCESS MAGIC was off slow then raced along the rail, then came out six wide on the turn to dig in gamely in the stretch and was up at the wire. ARCHIDUST vied for the early five wide, gained command on the turn, drew clear entering the stretch but was caught at the wire. BOB'S BAD BOY chased the early leaders from the inside, made a late bid in the stretch but was no threat. ADIOS CARLOS veered out at the start, then was quick to vie for the lead while in the three path, but gave way in the stretch drive. BOBBY BRINKLEY saved ground early then bid five wide in the stretch but it was too little too late. ROBO vied for between rivals then dropped back slightly on the turn and was no threat. HE'S A BOMB was in a mild drive six wide into the turn then weakened in the end. J C'S NIGHTCAP bid for lead between rivals then dropped back on the turn and was no factor. CAN HE STORM bid for the lead from the inside, was hard used and tired.
