Chart notes
AGAINST THE ODDS tracked the early pace from the inside, eased out leaving the quarter pole and came three wide into the drive, made a bid in the drive and got up late to prove best under a drive. COAST TO COAST set a pressured pace on the inside and then had a long drive and the stretch and just missed. CUMBERLAND GAP pressed the early pace three wide and made a two wide bid on the turn to duel entering the drive, but faded in the final furlong. SPIKES SHIRL tracked the early pace two wide and eased out to be four wide by the quarter pole but lacked a late bid. TORAZO chased the early pace four wide early and then came five wide into the drive and had no late rally. CAUSE OF ACTION chased the early pace between rivals, then came six wide into the drive and had no rally. IRISH ROAR (IRE) chased the early pace between horses and then checked by the half mile marker and dropped back, on the insider by the quarter pole and no factor late.
