Chart notes
SOUL STORY was bumped at the start, rated between horses into the first turn, then shifted to the outside to be rated four wide on the backstretch, made a three wide bid on the turn, took over nearing the furlong marker and edged away to prove best under a drive. FIFTH ELEMENT broke in at the start, then set a pressured pace in the two path, shook clear on the turn, then was headed leaving the three sixteenths, kept on but could not go with the winner, second best. BENCH PRESS prompted the early pace three wide, then tracked the pace on the turn and moved to the inside by the quarter pole, faded in the drive while staying on for the show award. NOTEWORTHY had to check into the first turn on the inside, then shifted to the outside on the backstretch to be flour to five wide, then was three wide on the turn and swung out five wide for the drive and had no kick. CARPE SOGNO pressed the early pace on the inside and stopped.
