Chart notes
UPTOWN QUEEN applied pace pressure to FIFTH RISK into the turn, vied for the lead in the upper stretch, advanced to a slim lead past the furlong marker then forged clear. CHASING SHADOWS tracked the pace into the turn, given cue five wide approaching the upper stretch, shifted in a couple paths under right handed pressure, roused forward into close contention but could not reach the winner. FIFTH RISK move up to engage the top flight after opening stages, led the way under pressure around the turn, dueled for command with the winner to the furlong marker then got collared for the lead and yielded. JOPLIN chased inside up the backstretch, hustled up five wide into the upper stretch, shifted in a couple paths under pressure and had a mild improve. SWEET LAURA lacked speed and trailed in the back, hustled up three to four wide around the turn, gained a bit of ground racing two wide past the furlong marker but failed to threaten. BOURN vied for the lead going by the half mile marker, chased in range around the turn then retreated in the lane.
