Chart notes
ROSES FOR DEBRA stalked the pace on the outside, held position three wide through the turn, bid on that path into the stretch, drifted in gaining a short lead and bumped a rival, then straightened and drew off late. ETTAPLACE allowed to settle, moved up inside through the turn, waited, got through into the stretch, made a steady gain, then was bumped, hit the rail, and was for forced to steady hard by a drifting rival and could not gain. MORE RANSOM mid pack, moved up three and four wide through the turn, fanned widest into the lane and evened out the final furlong. SLENDER BETSY broke sharply from the gate, leading before the first call, then vied inside to the turn, moved up to gain a short lead, then weakened the final furlong. HIDDEN SPRINGS was no factor. HIDDEN MEDAL set the pace from between rivals and faded through the turn. A CLAIM OF FOUL AND A STEWARDS INQUIRY RESULTED IN THE DISQUALIFICATION OF ROSES FOR DEBRA
