Chart notes
WEST LEONARD close up from the start, surged five wide through the turn, made the lead at the top of the stretch and drew off under right handed urging. ROSCO P. COLTRANE had speed from the start, split horses four then three wide through the turn, gained a narrow lead briefly, was overtaken by the winner, drifted out past mid track and finished clear for second. MUSTANG WILLIE void of early speed, found his best stride late in the five path. THE MAN CAN sprinted up the rail to gain a slight advantage before a quarter, dueled into the turn then weakened. KOLE MAN CAN swung wide and failed to menace. IRON MEN OF METZ dueled for the lead two wide through the turn and weakened in the stretch. JACK BE FAST battled for the lead three wide for nearly a half then faltered.
