Chart notes
CHOCOLATE BUNNY stumbled mildly leaving the gate, was sent to the early lead, showed the way from the two path around the first turn and up the backstretch, dueled on the inside around the far turn, kicked clear in upper stretch and held that margin to the wire. LEE LA DEW trailed the field from the two path through the opening half mile, navigated the far turn still in last place, began a late rally passing the eighth pole and gained ground from there. POWERFUL MAN saved ground headed into the first turn, switched to the outside to press the pace entering the backstretch, battled on the outside around the far turn, and chased the winner home, getting caught for second late. CAPTAIN CARNEGIE raced in the two path around the first turn, settled off the pace for the run up the backstretch, angled in to save ground around the far turn, offered a mild bid between horses in midstretch and flattened out in the final furlong. IRISH TUFF raced in the three path around the first turn, tracked the leader on the inside up the backstretch, saved ground around the far turn and tired on the rail in the lane.
