Chart notes
CHUCK WILLIS (IRE) showed good early speed along the inside to set the early pace and drew off the in the final stages to be well clear under steady handling. GRETZKY THE GREAT stalked the pace down the backstretch, moved up four wide through the upper stretch but no match for the winner late. ROARING FORTIES pressed the early leader, challenged for the lead through the far turn and weakened a bit the final eighth of a mile while racing two wide. WHITE FLAG stalked the pace, moved up four wide through the far turn, raced five wide in the stretch and no closing run. WEDGEWOOD was unhurried early on, raced near the inside at the quarter pole, angled six wide through the upper stretch and had no late rally. PRIMO TOUCH was off slowly, dropped back early, angled to race widest through the lane and had no final response.
