FIVE B C tracked the early leaders three or four wide in good position, moved to challenge into the far turn, edged clear and was under mild urging in the lane. S C ANGEL moved to the front about the two path, continued on the lead to the far turn then could not go with the winner in the lane. MISS ELLIE'S GIRL made a mild three wide rally but could not get to the top pair. CHIEFTESS prompted the early pace outside S C ANGEL and weakened nearing the lane.
