Chart notes
V. I. P. CODE rated off the pace, moved wide into rallying into the stretch then surged clear through the final furlong. SAMARONTI lagged far behind, advanced wide and closed well too late. DRILLOMATIC saved ground early, moved out on the final turn and was outfinished. SOVEREIGN WARRIOR went after the pacesetter on the final turn then weakened in the stretch. YEI YEI quickly sprinted clear, controlled pace to midstretch then yielded. WHAT'S TO BLAME dropped back early, made a menacing bid into the final turn and faded. KINGSVILLE lacked speed along the inside and failed to respond. ACKER trailed for three quarters then passed rivals while no factor. WILD UNION saved ground close up for half a mile and faltered. SON OF A SAINT chased far back throughout. GENGHIS raced in closest pursuit of the pacesetter then gave way.
