DADDY KNOWS Attended the pace outside, carried wide into the backstretch by SMOOTH OPERATOR, steadied slightly to avoid deer crossing the track inside the six furlong marker, was quickly back into stride, vied with that one to the lane, drifted out leaving the furlong marker furlong marker taking away the path of SIMPLY and then appeared erratic to the wire while narrowly besting RUN FOR BOSTON for the win. RUN FOR BOSTON Unhurried saving ground on the turns, eased out in the lane, gained, was forced in at the sixteenths pole by SIMPLY and then just missed. SIMPLY In hand along the two path, three path on the last turn, lodged a bid outside, was forced to alter course leaving the furlong marker, continued angling in at the sixteenths pole bothering RUN FOR BOSTON and finished well. SMOOTH OPERATION Set the pace towards the inside, carried DADDY KNOWS wide into the backstretch, steadied slightly to avoid deer crossing from the infield nearing the eleven-sixteenths marker, vied with the latter after that, chased in the lane and faded. THIS CAT CAN FLY In hand along the three path on the turns and tired. A Stewards inquiry was posted concerning the stretch run, also a claim of foul was lodged by the rider of SIMPLY against the winner for inference through final eighth, resulted in the disqualification of DADDY KNOWS from first to third.
