Chart notes
NORTHERN DREAMIN showed the way through the backstretch, opened up to good margins into the stretch and was ridden out. VICTORY AT LAST sat just off the pace, chased through the far turn, but was no match for the eventual winner. MUCHO GRACIAS fractious in gate, chased in second flight, went in pursuit of the leaders in the final turn, and held for show. LAST OF WAR offered a late rally. CONTE ROSSO rallied belatedly. OIL COUNTRY BOY chased four wide and never reached contention. EL QUETZAL dwelt at the start and did not finish. STEWARDS INQUIRY- The Stewards conducted an inquiry into the start of the race involving EL QUETZAL, after review EL QUETZAL was deemed to have had a fair start and no change was made. DUE TO TIMER MALFUNCTION RACE WAS HAND-TIMED.
