Chart notes
MAPACHE G was allowed to settle early, came six wide into the lane, lugged in nearing the furlong marker bumping a rival, then closed well to get up late to win the head bob on the wire. BUSHWICK BRUISER was reserved early, advanced on the turn two to three wide, angled out for racing room nearing the furlong marker, closed well and led late but lost the head bob to just miss. BOLD LICORICE was void of early speed, advanced on the outside on the turn and angled out widest leaving the turn and closed the gap late, got show award. BALLYHOO PRINCE was well rated early, advanced on the inside on the turn, tipped out three wide leaving the turn and made a bid, led late but then faded and lost the show award on the wire. EDMUND FITZGERALD vied for the lead along the inside, made a bid to shake clear on the turn but faded the final furlong. KERANOS was settled back early, then saved ground on the turn and had a belated rally on the inside and lacked room late. RUTHENIAN was reserved early, came seven wide into the lane and had no rally. OUT OF TOWNER vied for the lead four wide and came five wide into the lane, then was bumped nearing the furlong marker and had to checked, weakened. DOC ROCK steadied shortly after the start, then vied for the lead between horses, came three wide into the lane, then was shut off nearing the furlong marker and weakened. There was a Stewards INQUIRY into the running in the stretch, along with the jockey on number three DOC ROCK claimed foul against the number one BUSHWICK BRUISER for interference in the lane, after reviewing the replays the Stewards ruled the race would be as is, saying the two horses involved were tiring in the stretch.
