Chart notes
EAGLES PALACE well placed outside, gained position three wide through the turn, bid outside the leader into the stretch, made a steady gain and drove clear. GOT FLOFFY loose before the start, set the pace on the inside, shook clear through the turn, stayed on when challenged into the stretch, then weakened the final furlong. OLE G MAN loose before the start, held position on the two path through the turn, bid on that path, ducked in from the whip, straightened, then could not gain. MULETRAIN allowed to settle, moved up two and three wide through the turn, bid three wide into the stretch, weakened and held a share. NATHANIEL'S HOPE well placed, steadily lost ground, inside. ANVIL was no factor. HUNTIN' THE RUT was a brief factor. A CLAIM OF FOUL LODGED BY THE RIDER OF NATHANIEL'S HOPE AGAINST THE RIDER OF OLE G MAN, WAS NO ALLOWED
