CATHMOR fractious in the gate, bobbled at the start, looped up through the turn two and three wide, came three wide into the stretch, made a steady gain and edged ahead in the final strides. EXTRA MEDIUM mid pack, looped up three and four wide through the turn, came four wide into the stretch, made a steady gain and lacked the needed late kick. DONALD sprinted to a clear lead quickly while pulling, drew off through the turn, then weakened late and held the show. GOLDEN EMPEROR tracked the pace, lost some ground through the turn, came through inside into the stretch and had no rally. CANDY MY BOY ran evenly. BALK was never involved.
