Chart notes
ROYAL TRYST dropped from the five path to the two path early on the first turn, settled off the pace, was urged four wide around the far turn, rallied five wide into the stretch, made an outside bid at the three-sixteenths, gained the lead into the final furlong and moved clear in the final sixteenth under good handling. KERSHAW was hustled from the gate, dropped to the three path into the first turn, settled outside on the backstretch, gained four wide under urging on the far turn, took a short lead in upper stretch, lost the lead to the winner near the furlong marker, fought on until near the sixteenth-pole and was outfinished while clear for the place. GIOCARE bumped with a foe at the start and was last away, saved ground on the first turn, settled at the rear, moved out then was placed under urging around the nine-sixteenths, went five wide on the far turn, came seven wide into upper stretch and finished with late energy for the show. DARK STORM bumped with a rival at the start, went around the first turn in the two path, settled off the pace, was urged three wide around the far turn then gained while driven six wide into the stretch, held a reasonable striking position into the final furlong but flattened out. AUBURN HILLS was sent hard to the front, showed the way on the inside, was asked on the far turn, lost the lead under a drive in upper stretch and tired. BEAR ALLEY went three wide around the opening bend, tracked the pace on the outside, made a bid while three then two wide on the far turn, battled under a drive into upper stretch, dropped back into the final furlong and weakened. PARSIMONY was well placed just off the pace on the inside, passed the half-mile pole under urging, steadied near the three-eighths, saved ground into the stretch, chased tight against the rail into the final furlong and also weakened. WARRIOR IN CHIEF was hustled from the gate, tracked the pace in the two path, came up empty under urging on the final turn and retreated. SMOOTH OPERATION bumped with an opponent at the start, went four wide on the first turn, dropped back urging on the backstretch and faltered then was eased but walked off.
