POPPY FLOWER became fractious in the gate after other foes did the same, pinned the jockeys right foot against the gate, came out a step slow, was bumped and forced out early, settled on the outside, tucked in near the seven-sixteenths, went two then three wide around the turn, was roused five wide into the stretch, rallied outside under a right-handed crop, switched to a left-handed crop while gaining at the sixteeenth-pole and closed fast but missed while clear for the place. DERRYNANE became fractious in the gate after a foe broke through, was taken in hand early then put under tighter restraint while crowded inside the five-eighths, steadied off heels near the nine-sixteenths, was hard held passing the half-mile pole, went around the turn in the two path, shifted three wide into the stretch, steadied while lacking room from that point to outside the furlong marker, altered to the outside into the final furlong and finished willingly for the show. STATIC FIRE was off a step slow, came out early and bumped with a foe, settled off the pace, went three then four wide around the turn, chased under a drive into the final furlong, came in at the sixteenth-pole and bumped with a rival then missed the show. ARTOS (IRE) became fractious in the gate after others did the same, was rated while well placed just off the pace, saved ground on the turn, was asked near the five-sixteenths, bumped with a foe in the two path into the stretch, chased between horses into the final furlong, was bumped near the sixteenth-pole and lacked the needed kick. LADY SCARLET was rated on the outside, tracked three wide around the turn, was given her cue outside the quarter-pole, bumped with ARTOS while that foe attempted to get out at the top of the stretch, chased between horses into the final furlong, was bumped at the sixteenth-pole then steadied and weakened. MYSTIC EYES broke open the front of her stall door prior to the start but remained in the gate, was hustled to the front, set the pace under pressure to her outside, vied along the rail on the turn, was asked under threat around the five-sixteenths, lost the lead to the winner into the stretch and gave way. SWEET SOLARE broke open the front of her stall door before the start but remained in the gate, dropped back midway down the backstretch, fell to the rear into the turn and faltered then was eased but walked off.
